The Best Venues in Toronto

“What a delight it is to work with an event partner who truly becomes part of your team. Dinner was delicious and the room was just what we envisioned – an elegant hint of old Hollywood glamour. You really are Toronto’s best catering and event company”

Toronto has a long and diverse list of venues to choose from. From historical to modern, large and spacious to small and intimate each venue can offer you and your guests a unique experience that is unmatched by a banquet hall. Throughout the city, venues can offer indoor and outdoor spaces for every type and size of event to fit any budget.

Number of guests, style and theme can all dictate the short list of venues you consider for your event, but the choices can be vast. Considerations such as parking, accessibility, budget, length and type of event can be as overwhelming as planning the big bash.

Choices, Choices, Choices

Some venues will have certain supplies which may lower costs, such as full kitchens, basic rental packages, lighting and sound systems in place, while others act as a clean slate allowing you to bring in all of your own event design and equipment. Either way, it is important that you understand the space, its philosophy and the costs associated with doing an event with your venue of choice.

Some spaces may operate under a philosophy that can help to define your event and will shape much of your planning. Local and environmental considerations are at the forefront right now and can determine not only your menu and beverage selection, but also your flower arrangements and other event items. This is a positive trend and you can learn much in the planning process, if this is inline with your thinking.

Contacting the preferred suppliers on the venue’s list, and understanding their familiarity with the space and its requirements can help you choose the right caterer for the style of event you are planning. Speaking with these caterers should result in a clear and honest conversation regarding your budget and your needs in the space.

Preferred Supplier Lists

Preferred Supplier Lists are common for Toronto Venues. They offer a selection in a range of service types while ensuring that the suppliers understand and support the venue and their clients’ specific needs.

Preferred suppliers can offer a range of services from food, staffing, event décor and furniture, lighting and sound and should each be familiar with the space and its requirements as well as with each others services – offering clear and accurate event advice and estimates.

Toronto venues have extensive screening processes, and will not keep a vendor on their preferred list that they are not comfortable with. The suppliers on the list should work well together and communicate with each other to ensure a seamless event, every time.

Landmark Fees

The Landmark Commission Fee allows a venue to continue running smoothly and keeps our city’s venues in operation. Venues must turn to their clients to offset the costs pertaining to the venue’s upkeep due to wear and tear from the large volume of traffic. A Landmark Commission Fee is not uncommon for Toronto Venues. This is typically applied by the venue to certain elements of the caterer’s billing – billed through the caterer this fee is remitted to the venue and helps keep the doors open to some of the most unique and beautiful spaces in the city.

Strong Relationships

Daniel et Daniel is fortunate to have strong relationships with Toronto’s most exciting and exclusive venues. Often, people don’t consider calling their caterer for venue help, but our intimate knowledge of the spaces available throughout the city can help refine your search (and save you a lot of time), so you can get the party planning started!

Wedding Venues

“It wasn’t just the food , the level of service , professionalism and attention to detail were all noted. You were a key part of how this conference was perceived by both the delegates and the workshop leaders”.

Choosing a venue for your wedding can be a daunting task but is often the first and most important step in planning your wedding.

Toronto’s Wedding Venues are diverse and offer many possibilities. Some spaces can be small and intimate and feel like home, some, such as art galleries and museums can be large and spacious, providing a sense of culture and history. Historical sites are scattered throughout the city and can provide a stunning architectural backdrop while defining a belief, an era, and time in the city’s history. Nightclubs, condo building party rooms, private homes, farm fields, and other tented outdoor spaces can all be the perfect setting for your perfect day. Some venues standalone and require little in the way of decoration, while others are a clean slate for you to fill and make as individual as you are.

We are fortunate to be a preferred supplier for many of Toronto’s premier venues and our Event Planners are creative, conducting events in a number of alternative spaces in and around the city. With our experience and strong supplier relationships, our planners can help you find the space that feels right to you.
